The .GMT files for AMS are the same format as rF1 but they are encrypted, you will need a tool to decrypt them if you want to read them.

1) It is almost impossible to detect an AMS encrypted file and if you pass a file which is not encrypted you get errors
2) It's very easy to do outside 3DSimED if you know the files are AMS encrypted.

How do i correctly export a .gmt file for use in Automobilista ?

With the addition of the third party tool, rFactorDec.exe, 3DSimED can now call this tool to export Automobilista .GMT with the required encryption ?

Can someone help me ?

Thanks,

Pieter

Export->Automobilista should allow you to save either a single model or objects but you will need the tool rFactorDec.exe to be either in the same folder as 3DSimED3 or in a folder that can be found using the PATH environment variable.

I'm not seeing Export->Automobilista as an option in 3dsimed ?

Nevermind, the downloadlink in my purchase email didn't point to the latest version of 3dsimed

Updated and solved

Hi,

I've not done this for a while so i cant remember the process but here are the instructions i followed.

Create a new folder called NEW and copy there all the files you want to decrypt

download http://aluigi.org/papers/rfactordec.zip
download http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlin ... in-zip.php
download http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlin ... in-zip.php
download http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/downlin ... in-zip.php

place rfactordec.exe and ALL the files contained in the BIN folder of the last 3 zip of the links in the NEW folder where are located the files you want to decrypt.

now create a new text file with notepad and insert the following text in it:

find.exe -iname "*.gmt" -exec ./rfactordec "{}" "{}" ;

and save it in the NEW folder with the name go.bat
now you must simply click on go.bat and it will do all the job and at the end all the GMT files in that folder will be decrypted.
I have talked only about the GMT files because the DDS seem all already decrypted, if not it's enough to replace "*.gmt" with "*.dds" or just with "*.*" since rfcatordec is able to recognize if a file is encrypted or not.

I dont have time to test this again atm.

Cheers,
DrDoomsLab.

Hi,

It has been a long time since i've done this. lol.

There is a easier way to decrypt using the rfactordec.exe. Just double click on it and it will launch a select file box. Then go to the GMT's you need to decode, select them again and it will ask to over-wright. Press A for all and it will over-wright the files you selected. If rfactordec.exe closes before you are able to select them to be over written it might be because you have to many files selected. Just select a few at a time.

Other than that i'm trying to figure out how to open a track from Automobilista now as i can't find any SCN or GEN files for track loading. Does anyone know how to open a track from AMS? I've tryed Mendig and Oulton Park so far.

Cheers,
DrDoomsLab.

For most of the original Reiza tracks these files are hidden :-(
