Hi. I was wondering if its possible to nest objects within 3dsimed... So far I only see it has the capacity to view objects in a nested form but is that the extent of it?

Let's say I have an Assetto Corsa model open, various objects are nested, and I add a new object which I want to nest within an existing hierarchy, is there a way to do so? Currently it will only behave as an added object outside of any nesting and I don't see a way to alter that within 3dsimed. Interested in knowing if I'm missing something.

It's a bit long-winded but here you go:-

1 ) Use Edit->Object By Name to select the object you want to add another object to.

2) On the Object Instance Edit Pane use Isolate Object which will open a new window with just the object you selected above.

3) Use Primitives->Add Object to add any objects.

4) Copy to clipboard with Edit->Copy All.

5) Go back to the main drawing and, with the object selected in step 1 still selected, use Paste Data from the Object Instance Edit Pane to update.

BTW the Object Instance Pane has tooltips to show you the command for each button - so if you cannot remember them just hover the mouse over buttons.

Cheers!
