GN70 Version 2.0 for Papyrus NASCAR Racing 2003 Season

The Pits extends a BIG THANKS to Denis Rioux and Bill Anderson of dakotasimracing.com for making this update possible!

The GN70 mod version 2.0 installer does not overwrite your V1.1 install.  This version will install in a new \Papyrus\NASCAR Racing 2003 Season\series\gn70v2 folder

The installer can be downloaded from the following link:

http://www.thepits.us/files/n2003/mods/GN1970_v2.0.exe

Additional download mirrors available at the following websites (including RAR format for MAC users):

http://dakotasimracing.com/mods.html
http://www.nr2k3tracks.com/cars.html
http://www.sg3racing.com/overspray/GN70v2.htm
http://www.clebrowns63.com/mods.html

V2.0 fixes several issues in V1.1 and also includes many new features:

· All models contain full damage with removable body parts.
· Localized progressive paint scraping on body panels when damage occurs.
· New interior cockpits specific for each car model, with correct damage as viewed from inside the car.
· Tire rotation correct with speed.
· Removed flashing roof lights on pace car.
· New textures for engine compartment, interior, and chassis.
· Includes converted 1970 season 43 car set in 1024 res, with helmeted pit crews.

Separate new GN70 V2.0 enhancement downloads available (will be posted soon on The Pits, available now from Dakota Sim Racing):

· Add-on sounds authentic for 1970 era cars.
· Short Track carset in 1024 res.
· New short-track car changer utility (included in short track carset).
· No Helmet carsets in 1024 res (both standard and short track).
· New templates for each model with more paintable features, including the 1969 Camaro pace car.
· New Car Viewer X-Files for all models, including pace car.
· No Helmet Pit Crew utility from v1.1 still applicable.

Notes:

Every effort was made to improve FPS over V1.1, however the gains may not be that noticeable for people running older computer systems and graphics cards.  Most users will experience a slight increase in FPS, depending on whether you run in OpenGL or D3D.  D3D seems to offer the best overall FPS, depending on your graphics card and game settings.  Your mileage may vary :)

The base Torino and Chevelle exterior body models have remained unchanged from V1.1.  Slight changes have been made to the new 2.0 templates, but you can transfer your old paint jobs as-is without re-work. The MOPAR car models have been rebuilt, so any existing paint jobs from v1.1 will need to be updated using the new v2.0 templates.

The Carset Swapper Utility included with the Short Track Carsets will switch from the Superbirds/Daytonas to Roadrunners/Chargers and back again with just a click of the mouse.  Be sure to read the included readme file for correct installation.

I believe it will work just fine, Denis would know for sure.

I *think* all you would need to do is copy the GTO layers over to the Chevelle 2.0 template.

The GTO template from Version 1.1 will will work just fine with V2.0, the only thing you might add to it is the new rollcage shading layer.
