Post subject:  San Francisco Presidio track for N2003 **Extremely BETA**

This is a track I made a few months ago for N2003, and is currently in a beta state with a functional track but without any bespoke scenery or any kind of polished finish.

I'm releasing it now because I don't want to continue this project in N2003 and would rather wait 'till I can convert it to RFactor and then make improvements.

Any feedback please send to: iamfoundat@yahoo.co.uk

 omfg, amazing drive! Unfortunatly i never got past the street section around the back as it keeps CTD for me and the others i have shown it to, but thats amazing fun. We all hope you finish it, it'll be a blast!!

I raced quite a few laps on it AJB and can only say that it will be a big loss for us 2K3 diehards if you do not finish it... or at least improve it more!!!

Thanks for having released your beta!

[smilie=iagree.gif] too. It's already really nice, really original. It would be a pitty if you don't finish it , I think you've done most of it. Anyway thanks a lot for the release; I'm having fun with it!

This will easily be one of the best fictional tracks ever if its finished. :D

Alas, crashes for me at several places, such as the entry to that woodland
inner loop section visible on the track map at the far right.

The track runs perfectly on my computer. The only negative surprise I got is when my OWR car took off and flipped over on it's back at the big bump   ..... will have to remember to slow down there!!

Thankyou, I'm glad you all liked it.

THE main reason why this is a a beta and it crashes a lot is that I don't know jack about editing except how Sandbox works. So I can't really go any further because I don't know how.

Therefore...
I'd welcome any offers by anyone who wants to test it, especially the bits that are crashing (like I said, I haven't a clue where to start fixing that) or offer advice on how to create any scenery.

miclar1, I am slightly torn on whether to continue with N2003. I prefer rFactor - the main issue here is how easy it'll be in the future to convert tracks between games, and nobody seems to know. I guess if your an enthusiastic designer who's hopeless at maths like me you'll be hoping for an easy fix!

Can't run on this track.

My game crashs on it.

I try in single and race session,in cup, owr, pta and AD67 mods.
But allways the same thing.

Crapp

Please do not feel any pressure from my part! My enthusiasm for N2K3 add-ons has a lot to do with the fact that there is no other worthwhile sim for the Mac, and rFactor will probably never be available for that platform.

Having said that, my praise for your track is true... as well as the fact that it does not crash on my Mac. :D

Ideas:

The AI:
If I remember correctly the AI is next to useless. They run into each other in the pitlane and can't get round the track without some weirdness happening. I tried reducing the allowed starters to 30 and making some more conservate AI paths but eventually gave up trying to figure it out. Racing the AI isn't advised.

Replay cameras.
When I was trying to make a set certain cameras crash the game completely, but with a bit of trial and error I made a set that apparently was stable.

GTP.
I uploaded the file that was GTP-compatible, which could be a problem with the standard N2003 install?

Note that Dave Noonan's TRKMaker program doesn't like the .PTF file, and crashes with an unhandled exception when trying to convert to XML.
