Over at the OOTP (Out of the Park Baseball) forums Knuckler posted info about a website that converts raster images to vector images. This site is on-line only but it seems to do a very good job. Check out the OOTP forum and the Vector Magic site. Should be good for working with logos.

Cool man.... Looks like it works pretty well.

Where were you 2 months ago when I had to redraw the panthers logo.

WOW! As a painter for many years, this is an awesome find. I have spent hours redrawing logos.

Thanks for sharing!

I tried a few last night to give this a whirl.  Since I do alot of graphic arts, it was something I just had to see for myself.

The site does a pretty decent job, but it's not like re-creating the image yourself.    Of all the images I tried last night, it seemed that images that were pretty much plain and simple, worked the best.  Photos.. tend to have a watercolor look or a paint by numbers look to it.  Instead of a "highlight in the cheeks" where about 50 colors would be used, it gave an overall look with just a few colors making it more solid.  Scaled down, you really couldn't tell (if reducing the image).   And images that involved word type.. that needed a lot of work.  I don't recall one letter that wasn't "crisp".  They all seemed kinda rounded and plugged.

Overall, the site has quite a bit of potential and it seems like the creator is really onto something here.  If you can't find a great image at "best brands".. why not give it a try.  You just might be impressed with what it does.

Hi,

a free website to convert Corel Draw (extension: '.cdr') file to a more usable format (Encapsulated PostScript or bitmap files like JPEG) => filespazz.

Regards.
