I wish some one would mod the 1974 cup cars. Nothing can beat the look of the '74 Dodge Charger.

Amen Bob.. I'm still anxiously awaiting your mod, as I'm sure many others are.. Can you give us an update as to where it is in development, and what exactly needs to be done??

Well, awhile back the SCE team said they would help out on it and gave ma a 1-2 year estimate for completion. To date, they have done absolutely nothing. In fact, I do not even know if they ever downloaded any of the files from the FTP the files were on. The FTP is now gone as are the files that were on it. It was Dan Nisbet's FTP and he said he had back ups. I believe I still have the files needed on my machine as well. Anyway, needless to say I'm a bit disappointed that nothing has come of this project. I talked to their head guy semi-regularly and it seems like I always get the non-answer, answer. So as for the status? Not happening...

What needs to be done? At this point, it's been so long, it's hard to remember. I suppose physics work, a modeling tweak here or there, standardizing the templates, and importing the cars. Some tracks are needed as well. SO, I guess there's A LOT to do.

Man I have wanted this era for N2003 for sooooo long. I know these were made for rFactor but with permission I guess an experienced modeler could port them to N2003?

That would be fine with me, once all is said and done.

Bob.. I can't give a "1-2 year" timeframe, because honestly, with as much done as I see in your images, there's no way it should take that long.. If you still want this thing done for rFactor, let me know.. :) I would think with the member-base of The Pits, that if we were able to get a "beta team" together here or even elsewhere, this could be finished (At the very least, a VERY playable WIP) in a few months if not less.. By myself, obviously, it would take a little longer, but still no where near a year or two.. Heheh..

I hate seeing great mods and hard work not being used..

That sounds good Butch. I need to get ahold of Dan Nisbet to see if I can get the backups of my files back up. Then I wish to proceed... Somehow.

As soon as you have the files needed, we'll definitely get the ball rolling on this.. :) We should move this discussion to a separate thread though.. Heheh.. :)

Ok, I am confused.. Is this for rFactor or NR03? Yea, I know the title says NR03, but, the pics are rFactor.. Anyway, if they are rF, I would love to help (never modded NR03, so wouldn't be much good there) :)

The discussion started about a proposed N2k3 1974 mod, and MoparBob posted an image of a 1972 rFactor car to state that the '72 looked better than the '74.. :) That's how we got on rFactor.. :)
