Perhaps it was just a track addon, or a whole mod, but a while ago I remember seeing someing for either NR2003 or Rfactor, a Daytona beach course (running on the beach and road) for older style cars (something in the 1950's)....

Can't remember where I had seen it talked about, or for what racing sim, but I have heard (and seen) nothing about it since. Has that idea been scrapped? Or is it still in the works and no news has been released of it (yet)?

Just curious, as I would love to run some old iron on some old bullrings.....

Nope. I'm sure of it. It was never planned by a group called black widow and posted at the link below:

http://thepits.us/board/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15568

I'm sure of it. Never. Nope. Never.

:)

I think Lenny was doing one for NASCAR 2. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.

You know, track building is a lot of work. Sometimes the trackbuilder gets tired of working all alone, some positive words of encouragement will help him work thru the drudgery and finish the track.
DO NOT say is it done yet, when you gonna finish it, etc. Because that will make him put the track away for good. POSITIVE ENCOURAGEMENT works best.

Since rFactor came out there have been a ton of mods started, from 1970's rice burners to hydroplanes(think this one is still around) to racing "pots" to racing shopping carts to motorcycles to Red Bull racing airplanes and I'm 99% sure a mod like you described has been talked about But like so many mods(mine included) the lack of help killed a ton of them. There is only so much one or two people can do. So unless you see something at the usual posting sites then the mod has more then likely fallen into "the I need help, but can't get any" black hole

I believe this is what you're talking about. It shouldn't be much longer until it's released. :)

Back onto the original N2K3 topic, the OP had it right, mostly. The pic being referred to was a mod and a track. The car mod was Rioux doing the mid-50s cars, which he started with the 1955 Chevy. The track is being made by Bowtie. The two together look pretty good.......for the years 1955-1958 (the Daytona track opened in '59)

Actually I am making the track. Bowtie, Bill, SteveB and a bunch of other talented individuals have contributed tsos and time. The track is done and will come out with the 63 MOD (car set tuned to the track) as the 55 mod was never completed. I was sick for a time but am on the mend so I just need to wrap up the final files. I'm not really rushing it. Trying to juggle my time available. Bill will have the info when it's ready. Trust me though, it is fun to drive.

That's OK. Not worried about the credit, just wanted to clear up any confusion. Just want to get it done. And thanks!
