hi dave n,

is there a way to turn a material spec down, has one i got at the moment on a fence seems to cause a transparency problem, with rear car lights, and see through fencing appearing inside the my car cockpit view.
i'm told it to do with the chroma(erm yeah okay).:) or the alpha

is there a way to tone this down.it for rfactor (transparency=black) i believe.

To make the specular less bright use lower RGB values for the specular colour.

Cheers!

ok, dave.n i try that.

do you think this also could be that there nothing behind the fencing.that could also be the problem.at the moment it just a grass area, with a few tree post at the back, and causing the skyboxi to rebound light

Not sure, to be honest, but I seem to remember that if you have more than one material with multiple transparency then there can be problems.
Looking at the screenshot, I wonder if the windscreen material has been correctly tagged as glass.

Cheers!

Open the windscreen model, press E and for the glass material (multiple transparency), enable the Glass check box and it's fixed. This can also be quite useful for fences if objects behind the fence pop through it, but that's another matter.

Does this impact performance in anyway (FPS)?  If not, great tip!
