Hi all
I've been using the excellent 3dsimed demo a month now and of course my trial finished today. The next thing i did is to buy it. i downloaded it and when imported the first GTR2 car file the textures didn't load!
just a pink mess of meshes...
Am i doing something wrong? if this is how it works can i have the demo's version instead of this?

hmm...

the problem is when you drag a car file to 3dsimed not when you click import at the program's menu

now i've worked on it a bit more i am disappointed...
the textures load when they want and the folder of the car imported (or previous cars too!!!) gets FULL of all the files linked from the cas file (80-90 gmts, 130-140 dds etc) and I have to delete them manually since the program doesn't.
now what's this???? anyone else having this problem?

i have stopped working ALL my mods since i bought it.
plz help.

Do i have to post some more info about my operating system or gpu or ...

Files have to be expanded from the .GTR archives to a temporary folder, and those files should be deleted when you close the drawing.

So, why have you had to stop working?.

Hi Dave,

i found out what was wrong. i extracted my copy of 3dsimed in "program files" like all progs do. BUT i have @$#%#$&#$ greek vista installed and since vista use aliases for the folders (in greek its "αρχεία εφαρμογών"...) 3dsimed couldn't work as it should be. so the solution was : move simgarage folder (where i have my copy of 3dsimed) to c:

one of the problems was that the files were being extracted into the cars folder i imported each time and the delete job was left for ME!!!!!

anyway i figured it out (maybe this should be mentioned at sim-garage site that there are some problems with non-english vista installations and non-english named folders - at least for greek... )

Thanks for the info.

Are you sure it is the alias that is the problem. I am thinking that it might be the 3DSimED is not going to work correctly in the Program Files of Vista.

I will have a look some more over the next few days.
