Is it possible to quickly merge all materials with same textures? For example I export from max to .x file but when I load in 3dsimed the materials are a mess.. Each object has a different one.. I always solve this mess in 3dsimed but now I have too many objects and it would take a century to do that manually..

PS: So far I found .x format to be the best for importing in 3dsimed (textures are automatically assigned and smoothing groups work properly). Would you reccomend some other format?

Thanks in advance =)

I solved this now by extracting with COLLADA plugin xD. Materials are not separated by objects now and they have fine names =)

But anyway it would be nice to have a function that merges materials..

The best format is the one that gets the job done for you. It really depends on the information that is important to bring in but I know I found .x useful.

I will have a look at a merge materials function for the future.

Cheers!
