i know where the main logo is (layout/art) i dont wanna necessarily change it, as much as i want it removed so i can see the whole series background pic..... (yes, the main logo appears over every series in the same spot..)

Thanks!!!! Yeah, i couldnt find anything searching the posts....guess i shoulda googled.... :) now i can winmip that to a .bmp and edit it to create my own, correct?

if you realy want to make your own. most will just delete it and make their own backround for a series.

seems logical :) but i thought u would have to unpack that .dat to get to it, and then it would still just read the .dat file, and wouldnt the game crash if a file wasnt there?

if you install the file from aerowars88.net it makes a picture that 1x1

That file removes the Nascar logos. It doesn't remove the background image that came with the game or each mod.

You will have to make a new mainback.stp file (put it in your series folder) to have a diff image for the background.

put this in your layout/art folder. If you don't have an 'art' folder, make one.

this does NOT replace the mainback.stp file. As Keith mentioned, you make those separate. Those must be 800X600 images that you convert to a stp in winmip, and they are placed in the appropriate series folder.


Are you sure it's a black dot Steve? It might be a white one. :twisted: :evil:

LOL... I had a 1X1 that I made for myself for a long time til DD made the invisible one. Don't remember what color it was; I just remember the dot. Sorry, wasn't trying to cut your util; jJust thought I'd offer an alternative.

You must have amazing eyesight Steve, 800X600 is 480,000 pixels and you're telling me that you could pick out that one pixel that was off color? This splash screen removal utility has recieved 100's of downloads and it seems very strange that no one else noticed it. :twisted:

awww....please dont fight over lil' ol' me....:) haha.....now i get it, just a 1x1 pic will barely be seen.......didnt realize what the file was doing.....thanx for all your help(s)! i was trying to make a new main logo (not background screen) but cant seem to see it.....i guess ill try and make it bigger!
