Hey Dave,

I don't know how you do your pssg editing and you probably know a lot of info about it but I made a tool which may or may not help. You can get it here: http://petar.outer-heaven.net/downloads/index.php?file=3&sort=2

In my tool I have listed all the sections and converted them into an xml format for better viewing. You can also export each section separately into either a binary format or if it's a TEXTURE section (which you probably know a lot about) you can export it as a dds.

I was hoping you could make your tool import pssg models back into the game of F1 2010, Grid and Dirt 2. Again, I don't know if my tool will help since you already know a lot about pssg files but please try to make this feature! Looking into all the sections in the pssg myself, it does look very complicated.

Thanks!

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you but I have been away for a while.

Great work - this looks more useful than the unpacking and packing of 3DSimED (which can only re-pack textures of exactly the same size as the original).

The format of the models is very complicated and I need to build a thorough understanding of how the DX effects tie in before I will be able to save back models...

Thanks again.

Cheers

Dave N.

Hi there Dave I would like to know if you have an update about the PSSG files not to be a pain but I am eager to put my models into the game.

Thanks

Michael

I am afraid PSSG writing will not be for a while yet.

Cheers!

But it can appear in the future, right? After (or if) you understand the format clear enough?

I have had a look at the font PSSG files but cannot work out how the characters are rendered. Why do you need these fonts?.

Cheers!

Yes, but the only data I can read are the bounding rectangles for each character, which is what you are looking at. The characters seem to be defined by glyphs which I cannot decode.

Cheers!

Hey Dave,

I just wanted to know something about the way you read PSSG files. For the section SHADERINPUT and it's subheader format do you have to make an exception to read extra float bytes after reading the format?

Thanks, I hope the question is clear enough!

For some reason i can't open the 'objects.pssg' from F1 2010 file stored in 'tracks/ui/paddock', any ideas anyone? Everything I have tried can't open it and I could use some of the files it contains I think.

Use this: http://petar.outer-heaven.net/downloads ... e=3&sort=2

But there is no textures inside that file.

Those values appear to be required if you are using the shaders, otherwise they can be skipped.

Cheers!

I'm after the model of the pit garage interior, i have got the one from the loading menu but can't seem to find the one used in races anywhere.

Thanks
